Former Prime Minister Tanaka Kakuei was the figure who committed himself to the normalization of Sino-Japanese relations.
At this memorial museum, in addition to Prime Minister Tanaka Kakuei’s achievements there are exhibits featuring his favorite footwear, golf items and letters sent to him from all over Japan.
“Kashiwazaki Collection Village” is a facility that gathers together the collections of collectors. Among these, are the three facilities “Chigonoya,” “Kurofunekan,” and “Aimingeikan.”

Souemon Hara Atelier
For several generation,Souemon Hara Atelier has carried on Japan’s traditional casting techniques and purple bronze molding and also creates its own original works.
Souemon Hara is the current fourth-generation head of the atelier and he creates incense burners and single flower vases. He has won several awards at traditional handicrafts exhibitions. In 1978, the atelier was recognized as a Niigata Prefecture intangible cultural asset.
